Reflexology involves the application of pressure to ‘reflex areas’ on the feet or hands that correspond to all our major organs, systems and structures e.g. digestive, circulatory, and anatomical areas.

A treatment can help bring about relaxation, balance and healing to specific areas of the body.

 Reflexology can help : -

  • Reduce stress, relax the mind and body and improve poor sleep patterns

  • Support recovery from injury and improve mobility.

  • Help manage auto-immune conditions and arthritis

  • Stimulate the nervous system and increases energy levels

  • Strengthen the immune system

  • Improve digestive disorders

  • Aid the elimination of waste products and toxins from the body

  • Engage the parasympathetic nervous system to calm worries and anxiety

  • Reduce hormonal symptoms resulting from PMS, menstruation, peri-menopause and menopause

  • Improve circulation and fluid retention. Support the lymphatic system

  • Ease allergies, asthma, sinus conditions, eczema and migraines

  • Support fertility and conception

  • RLD - Reflexology for Lymphatic Drainage can help reduce arm volume and related complications of Lymphoedema.

  • Hand reflexology is a lovely touch therapy especially for the elderlyStudies show that touch can help reduce the feeling of loneliness, lower stress levels and promote the release of chemicals in the brain which can help with social interaction.

Reflexology for Lymphatic Drainage

Lymphoedema is defined as tissue swelling due to the failure of lymph drainage. Lymph is usually moved around the body by the massaging effect of the surrounding muscles but if the muscles get damaged or Lymph nodes affected by surgery or chemotherapy there can then be an increase in fluid in the body tissues and it is this which may lead to lymphoedema.

Reflexology Lymph Drainage (RLD) is a specialist reflexology technique researched and developed by Sally Kay whilst working in cancer care. It is a unique sequence which stimulates specific lymphatic reflexes on the feet. Over a period of time, there can be a significant reduction of fluid out of the affected limb and thus a reduction of further fluid build-up.

We measure the arm before and after the treatment and calculate the reduction in size. Sometimes it is astonishing how much the volume of the arm has reduced.

Head to Sally Kay’s website to view the case studies in which you can really SEE the difference that RLD makes.

RLD treatments are booked in a block of four sessions as a minimum. This is because we measure arm volume before and after treatment and log our findings. We compare these at every session and at the end of the four we can work out the total fluid lost and the percentage from each arm.

Allow an extra 30 mins on top of the treatment for measuring and discussion.
